Seems a little strange to create a trailer for an old short when we’re starting a new one but this is long overdue. This one took around two hours to put together and gives just enough information to provide intrigue.
I’ve posted some location shots from last weekend below which include the beach, cliffs and the hospital which are all ideal but there’s a lot more work to do.
The beach scenes pose a particular challenge in not only being dangerous but in the early months of next year are going to be freezing. There are a number of key scenes which need to be shot at specific times to coincide with the tide i.e. if the tide is going out, the actors will be going out with it. Without giving too much away, at the beach we need to shoot Eddie’s drowning (at night), his resurrection (at dawn) and his drowning (again but at dawn). So this will involve an early a.m. shoot through to sunrise (which in Feb will be around 8am). Add to this the remoteness of the location (i.e. Dunnotar castle) - and the amount of gear that we need to shift (including jib weights - Alan, I’ll carry them myself if I have to!) then we’re probably going to have to get there around 3am. And we need dry-suits….and coffee oh and maybe a lifeguard or two. Continue Reading »
This evening Blue on Blue picked up 3rd place (after short-listing in the top five) for Best Short Film at the IOV awards. Fantastic achievement, particularly for Alan and Brian of Raetech, one of our production partners (along with Blitz Entertainment), because the award focuses on the technical achievements in cinematography, editing and sound.
